Sunday’s concert was a bright spot in an otherwise dreary day. Amid storms, a brave group of people known as the Primetimers from St. Wenceslaus Parish in Omaha ventured out to make a day of the festivites with games and a picnic in the Elkhorn park. With the frequent showers, many wondered if there would be any music at all.
Stephen showed up as scheduled, but he had left his religious music at home. He had been told that this would be a secular performance and to prepare accordingly.
Little did he know his secular audience would be comprised of retired Catholics from his own town! He enjoyed the irony and played his set. The rain had stopped, and the audience enjoyed sitting outside listening to the sweet acoustic tunes.
The favorite of the evening was “The Coffee Song”. Many of the audience members are eagerly anticipating its recording. He hopes to have it ready for sale before the next concert. The Primetimers have promised to attend.
