We would like to say a few words about the contributions of the band members. Each of the members (past and present) has offered their talents to the furtherment of the music.
Stephen M. Tefft is a singer/songwriter who has 986 songs to his credit, and will hit 1000 once his current project is completed. He has been playing guitar for 20 years and has been writing music for over 15. He has been offering his time, talent, and treasure to bring people to God through music.
Joy McCurley (a former member) saw the need for the band’s songs to be recorded, so she met with every recording studio in the area and found Tom. To date all of Cor Sanctum’s albums have been recorded with Tom, and they wouldn’t have it any other way.
Jennifer Gaddie arranged for travel and lodgings for the band domestically (New York, California, New Mexico, and North Carolina) and abroad (Cologne, Germany).
Rick Smith put the music on commerical internet sites to offer the music to new audiences.
Mike Buell found recurring venues for both Stephen as a solo artist and the band as a whole.
Thanks to these fine people the music is flourishing, and the fanbase is growing.
A Brief History of the Music
Stephen began writing music in the early 1990s, and much of his music was religious or secular with a morality tale in the mix. He was not the typical bar-band songwriter. In 1999 he decided to stop trying to hide the message. He wrote what came to him. He penned the music of his soul.
He looked for people to fill out the sound. He found vocalists and instrumentalists to assist in his many projects, and today, with Cor Sanctum, he has five completed albums, and has two in the works.
The music, while acoustic, can be a sweet lullaby or a driving force–each designed to touch the heart and inspire the listener to make a difference in the world.
