Hi, All…

Over on Jill Stanek’s wonderful site, (www.jillstanek.com) the weekend question is: “What should the official song of the pro-life movement be?” I would like to submit some of my songs for consideration.

First there’s: A Chorus of Children

A CHORUS OF CHILDREN                             (Tefft)

1)         How many have to die for our selfishness?

How many souls must cry for our greed?

How can we deny what is right before our eyes?

Tell me why do we ignore their need!

Chorus:            There’s a chorus of children a billion voices strong

And the world will never hear their song.

God help us… we’ll never hear their song.

2)         Have we no concern for the future?

Will we ever learn from the past?

Try now to discern and from our choices turn

Or we will only burn at the last?

Bridge:                         All the laughter, all the tears,

All the days, the months, the years…

We just take for granted everything they’ll never know.

                                    The power of a life

All the joys and all the strife.

So, who decides that they should never grow?

3)         So, what’s it all about, this talk of choices?

Is there any doubt what we have done?

While we sneer and pout, their very blood cries out,

Their tiny voices shouting as one!

Next: Choose Life

CHOOSE LIFE                                   (Tefft)               2/19/07

1)         Every moment is a crossroads.

We decide which way to go.

Where that path might lead us

            We never really know.

            It’s true that some decisions

            Are more difficult to make.

Especially when so much is at stake.

Chorus:            You have the right to make a choice

So stand up and raise your voice

In defense of those who cannot speak

To protect them from the knife…

                        Choose life!

                        Choose life!

2)         You know, sometimes our emotions

Get the best of common sense

            And selfishness might place us

On the wrong side of the fence.

That we might live the way we want

            So many children died!

Who are we to say we can decide?

3)         Is it such a tough decision?

It comes down to life or death

And rare the person who can kill

            And feel no regret.

            There’s millions dead and counting

But we forget what we don’t see.

Is this really what we want to be?

Finally: It’s A Child

IT’S A CHILD!                       (Tefft)               101508

1)         You’re willing to kill to protect your lifestyle.

            You call it a “choice.”

             You say it’s a “right.”

You don’t want to think about consequences.

            To live as you like,

            Destroy a new life.

Chorus:            And you say I am wrong to say it is wrong.

And you say you are right to say it’s a right.

But tell me how murder can be reconciled…

                        It isn’t a choice…  It’s a child.

2)         The judges might speak, hand down their decision.

            To kill the unborn

Is the law of the land.

A mother can murder her own little children

            If they are unwanted

            Or they’re just unplanned.

Bridge:                         We worry and we argue so much about our “rights”

Instead of what’s the best thing we can do.

If what makes you correct is the fact that you have might,

What is that really saying about you?

3)         You’re willing to kill to protect your lifestyle.

            You call it a “choice.”

            You say it’s a “right.”

But how many lives are casually taken?

            Millions of lives lost

            With no end in sight!

Hope you like the songs. If nothing else, I hope they made you think a little.
